Afrofest Toronto is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year for anyone interested in African culture and beauty. This year, our beauty supply store was thrilled to be a part of the festivities, meeting and connecting with members of our community and sharing our love for hair care and black beauty with attendees. 

The event, which took place at Woodbine Park in July, was a vibrant and exciting showcase of African music, dance, fashion, food, and of course, hair and beauty. It was an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the African continent, while also showcasing the creativity and talent of local artists and entrepreneurs. 

Beauty Braids & Beyond founders, Rochelle Tosin & Jada, set up a booth at the event, showcasing our wide range of products designed specifically for Black hair and skin. From the launch of our satin lines bucket has and visors to satin lined African print bonnets, Luxury Lashes and Black Girl Sunscreen we had everything needed to support the beauty supply needs of our community. 

It was an amazing experience to see so many people stop by our booth and engage with us. We met people from all walks of life who shared their personal hair and beauty stories with us, which filled us with so much joy and gratitude. 

The energy at the event was contagious, with music and dance performances filling the air and the vibrant colors and patterns of African fashion on full display. There were also a variety of food vendors serving up delicious African cuisine, adding to the overall festive atmosphere. 

Throughout the event, we were reminded of the importance of celebrating and embracing the unique beauty and diversity of Black beauty & culture. Beauty Braids & Beyond believes that everyone should feel confident and beautiful in their own skin, and we were proud to be a part of an event that promoted this message. We got the opportunity to speak to the Mayor of Toronto and explain the significance of our business within our community. 

Afrofest Toronto was an unforgettable experience that brought together members of our community to celebrate the beauty and richness of African culture. Beauty Braids & Beyond was honored to be a part of the Afrofest festivities and we look forward to continuing to support and celebrate Black beauty in our community.
