Squalene is an emollient. Squalene is a lipid that is naturally produced by our skin cells and is a component of our sebum; how much is made declines with age. It also has detoxifying properties that can replenish hair strands and protect hair from damage.

Generally non-irritating at approved cosmetic concentrations.
