PURPOSE: 

Cyclopentasiloxane is an antistatic conditioning agent. Allows hair strands to move easily past one another.

IMPLICATIONS:

This ingredient is a bit more difficult to rinse off of the hair shaft which increases exposure to product build up. It can also make hair dry as it acts as a sealant not letting moisture out or in. Silicones have been linked to toxicity to the lungs and liver as well as environmental toxicity.
