(Emulsifier, Cationic)

PURPOSE:

Behentrimonium Chloride is an emulsifier and an antistatic agent. It's cationic charges attract to the anionic charges on skin and hair, which makes combing-through smoother and easier. It's hydrophobic as well, so mainly used in rinse-off products.

IMPLICATIONS:

Since this ingredient coats the hair, it's not best left on for too long or it will result in dry hair, not allowing any moisture onto the hair shaft. Can be safely used at 1-5% concentrations.
